Banned in the UK for being “irresponsible"

As reported, Hailee Steinfeld’s fall 2011 Miu Miu campaign, which depicted her sitting near a train track, was banned in the UK for being “irresponsible because it depicted a child in an unsafe location.”
Miu Miu Recent banned campaign
Looking at the history of ad campaigns in the UK market  I think that Miu Miu deserves an award for being socially responsible in comparison with the below... LOL! I mean come on where is the creative license? and why Miu Miu is being attacked? Have a look at the ads that ran in the UK and were more than welcome! and judge for yourself...

Facebook-Proof your Party Wear!

How to Make Sure Your Friends and Followers Never Have to "Like" the Same Look Twice You bust out your hot new dress and hit the party. The next morning, killer pics of you rockin’ your new look show up on Facebook. At first you’re stoked, but then it hits you -- does this mean you have to stash your new outfit in the back of your closet, toss it in the trash or donate it? No way! With a little reworking, you can replay your favorite pieces -- and your Facebook friends will never even know. It’s really about how creative you can be. That’s the only thing that should really limit you from playing it again and again.

Tips:
Make your wardrobe Facebook-Friendly? go for separates. They really allow you a lot of wardrobe mileage because you can wear them together, wear them apart -- and mix them up with other pieces,It’s really about how creative you can be. That’s the only thing that should really limit you from playing it again and again.
LBD is another way or Classics such as white boyfriend shirt in different styles, just accessorize them. Whether it’s a statement necklace, gorgeous earrings, scarf or bold cuffs, swapping out jewelry can turn an outfit into something completely different. You can also add a belt to your look, which will also cinch your waist, giving you a fabulous silhouette. An unusual pin, strategically placed, can draw the eye and win endless compliments.
Next, play with layers. Top it off with something like a denim jacket, classic or trendy blazer a faux fur vest maybe...
Beware of statement bold pieces, people tend to memorize them, I recommend going with ones that are a little bit toned down -- in colors like teal, black, wine or plum. You want something that’s not in your face like fuchsia or a yellow -- or silver sparkles.”Instead, save memorable pieces for a time when you're the star of the show.
You can also freshen things up by embellishing your basics. Replace boring buttons with more eye-catching ones. Spice up a classic trench coat by adding some edgy spikes, or use strips of sequins to take your leggings from plain staple pieces to the stars of your entire look.
You can even kind of make the piece look different in the way that you pose -- the angle, the side of the piece that you show toward the camera.

If you insist on wearing the same outfits again and again and post on facebook! you can use this excuse “For example, First Lady Michelle Obama, she repeats looks again and again -- and she’s the most photographed woman in the world.” :)

Now that you're Facebook Proofed! Go ahead & post as many pictures as you like;)

Hysteria at Versace for H&M launch

With many shoppers having spent the night queuing on the pavements outside, there were scenes of hysteria as the eager crowds were finally let in to fill their arms with brightly printed garments from the shelves without even looking at the design or size... Some were pickin up all that they can see exceeding what they can carry!... fortunately the ambulances were on high alert!
In Dubai (There aren't many things which will have 200 people queuing patiently outside a store from 5am. Versace for H&M apparently will), shoppers reported H&M stores selling out of the entire collection in under 30 minutes - with many pieces arriving on eBay moments later. Smart ones (women) headed immediately after the women's collection was vanished in minutes to the Men's section & got superb "Unisex" pieces, some are even better than the Women designs!
After this huge success, even before the official launch looking at the amount of the celebs who supported the collaboration, the amazing campaign and outstanding collection it was very clear that  THE RISE AND RISE OF DONATELLA VERSACE was around the corner!
(below Donatella arriving to the London H&M shop greeting the shoppers at the day of the launch)

Donatella Versace has yet again proven her business credentials by designing a Versace collection for H&M, immediately raising the profile of the family firm. The 56-year-old took over as chief designer of the Italian fashion label when her brother, Gianni, was killed on the doorstep of his Florida home in 1997. The company is one of the last truly family-owned fashion houses.
Donatella is Vice President of the Versace group and owns 20 per cent of the entire stock market assets of Versace.
Her brother, Santo Versace, owns 30 percent and Donatella's daughter Allegra Versace inherited 50 per cent of the company stock after the death of her uncle, Gianni. Allegra inherited $700 million on her eighteenth birthday and was also given Gianni's villa on Lake Como, and a large townhouse in Manhattan. While the family firm's reputation is no longer what it was at its peak in the Nineties, Donatella and Co. will hope that this collaboration will boost their reputation... and their revenue.

Hermes New Scent...Santal Massoïa

Jean-Claude Ellena imagined an Indonesian forest, and felt  transported to those rugged, fragrant tree trunks. Intrigued and seduced by the strange, slightly primitive and raw perfume at once mellow, milky and pungent – coming from these trees that look like great sticks of cinnamon;  in order to produce an olfactive expression of supple and velvet-smooth sandalwood and massoia.

This Hermes-sence combines the suppleness of milky woods, constituted by the enveloping sweetness and skin-like fullness peculiar to sandalwood; and massoia with its unexpected aspect of resin and the delicious element of dulce de leche and dried fruit. The paradox of the Arab Fragrance” JC.Elena, thinks that Arabian wood perfume wearers will love this new sent as it leaves soft and musk finish.

Six Years in the making! The tenth fragrance in the Hermes-sence collection, Santal Massoïa  is released!

PONYTAIL OBSESSION - EID STYLE IDEAS & HOW TO!

Ponytail is one of my favorite hairstyles, Ponytails can be elegant, stylish, effortless chic, playful.... Its fab to wear one if you wana show off your smokey eye make up & sculpted cheeks!  Am always trying out new Ways & Styles, sometimes I just create one & it looks good most of the times:) Note if you have short hair, just pick up a ponytail extension and you will be able to apply all the styles below!
With Eid break, there is no need for wasting our precious holiday time at the saloon everyday! Play with your hair during this festive season, try out new easy styles!  Have a look at my picks and choose the ones that fits you most & you're ready to rock! Hopin that the tutorials are clear enough for a gorgeous hairdo!

KNOTTED: This is a style worthy of a Greek goddess. Create a deep side part with a rattail comb, then use it to lightly tease the hair underneath the nape of the neck. Pull all your hair into a ponytail at the nape, secure it with an elastic, and then slip in a couple large bobby pins near your ears to hold back any flyaways. To make it look as if you tied the tail in a knot, take a large chunk of hair from the tail and wrap it around the rest of the hair a couple of inches from the base, sticking the ends into the elastic—no pinning necessary.

SCARF WRAP: BIG soft waves give this style a really romantic feel. If you have straight hair, wrap sections in figure eights around a double-barrel curling iron. Poof the center part with a comb and pull hair lightly into a low ponytail; secure with an elastic. Brush out the hair in the tail, then tie a thick, colorful printed scarf—or even a piece of fabric—around the elastic.

MESSY: I've been obsessed with this ponytail since the second I spotted it at the Michael Kors show and for good reason: It's fast, it's easy, and it doesn't require perfectly smooth hair (so put down your flat iron!). Blow-dry hair while roughing it up with your hands, then secure it in a low, tight ponytail at the nape of the neck. Tease the tail with a brush to give it volume and a rough-looking texture. Rake your fingers over the top of your head, from your crown to your hairline, to create haphazard flyaways. Finish by wrapping a section of hair around the elastic to hide it. Strong hold spray is required on the roots & on the front part.

BLENDED: At first glance, this ponytail is just a ponytail—but look closer: The style is actually a mix of two different textures (the top of the head is smooth and the tail is rough). "Smooth a bit of gel on top of the head, then brush the hair into a high ponytail," "Flat iron the tail, then mist it with some beach or strong spray; pull it apart with your hands to make it look edgy and rock and roll."

TIGHT BRAID: Apply gel to your roots and use a brush to pull hair into a high ponytail. Then braid the tail tight, securing the ends with an elastic. "It's good for a party, because it looks great with a cocktail dress.

SIDE BRAID: This style has a pretty finishing touch. Pull back wavy hair and shift it over to one side of your neck, letting face-framing pieces fall free. Begin braiding at the nape, then tie it. Wrap a small section of hair from the ends over the cord to hide it; use a small bobby pin to fasten.

Eid Mubarak Ponytail Girls! xoxoxo

30 Years of Karen Millen with us!

The Autumn/Winter 2011 season marks the 30th anniversary of Karen Millen and to thank us:)  for our  loyalty KM are hosting 30 parties in 30 cities around the world, in addition to special offers, launching an inspired 30th anniversary gift collection and more.
Well I don’t really know about the other parties that Karen Millen hosted around the world, but I can surely tell you about Dubai Fab Party! The thing is that I really don’t know where to start,

I mean the Collection itself was like celebrating “Richness”  by using extremely abundant colours, textures & paterns, the patern for example in signature dresses is printed alongside each other in order for it to flow around the contour of the body, as for the lace in some designs has been toughened by cutting it into a strict silhouette with military epaulette and glossy metal work, couldn’t help but notice the details in each and every piece, it is indeed the craft behind every design! I so Loved the bag studs collection in the picture &  YES ALL the shoes! … pls. check them out at Karen Millen boutiques they are super stylish! & also check out the Behind the scenes Karen Millen Campaign video ( scroll down)
The crowd  at the show was truly exceptional almost all of the Dubai Fashionistas did not miss it out! I can say there were 2 catwalks at the party!;) The ambience was so relaxed that for once I felt as if it was a Fashion girls night out! One of the most talked about events this year! Well done KM :)

KIM KARDASHIAN FILES FOR DIVORCE AFTER HER UAE VISIT

OOOPs, do we have anything to do with it? after her visit to Dubai & AbuDhabi I think Kim had the time to think it over, especially while relaxing at the Palm, Few Shisha Puffs & 10000000000 of fans! not to mention the Deal$! OR did Kim fall for an Arabian Prince Charming during her stay in the UAE? Who knows she said she'll be back soon & looked stunning in a Abaya! LOL
Kris didn't know Kim was filing divorce papers until this morning.  As for why things fell apart after the wedding, click here to find out.12:38 PM: Kris just released a statement on the split, claiming he'll do anything to repair his broken marriage.
Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday morning, after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss to Kris Humphries.
Even though the marriage was short, she is not seeking an annulment. It's a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites "irreconcilable differences."
The date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011.  According to the docs, Kim wants Kris to foot his own lawyers' fees and she'll pay hers.  And, she wants the court to reject any move by Kris to get spousal support. And, the docs list the length of the marriage as a measly 2 months. As we first reported, the couple has a prenuptial agreement ... Kim made sure of that.

BTW Rumors of a split had been swirling for some time and the two were spotted out to dinner last week ...
looking less than pleased with one another.

Sending my support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time.
