Elie Saab Couture Paris Spring-Summer-2012

The long flowing skirt--Saab’s expertise in addition to that this season shorter skirts and more lace. The skirts, several inches above the knee, looked, in white and yellow lace, silver beaded blouses, in a pastel embroidered with crystalized tulle flowers, the effect is sweet, upbeat and virginal, it is even more see through than seasons past because of both the slightly slimmer line of the dress and the pattern in which the embroidery is sewn. Sparkling crystalized tulle flowers tattoo the bodice and the pastel colours are as sweet as an angelic garden. Along with the tone-on-tone embroidery, these give a less crafty and lighter feeling compared to recent couture collections.
Saab gets a little imaginative in a pink dress with strips of silk sewn into tulle to form a fence, with flowers wrapping around like a vine to cover the breats, a faded mint see-through dress with vines that cap sharp shoulders have that look-at-me touch to turn any society princess into a steamy royal.( pictures below)

Kate Moss and Terry Richardson team up again for Mango campaign

Following the success of last season's viral video, Kate Moss has teamed up with Terry Richardson again for a second stint with high street chain Mango.

Spanish high street fashion label, Mango, were obviously chuffed with the response to last season's viral video campaign starring Kate Moss and Terry Richardson, as they've invited the pair back to take another bite of the, er, mango.

Style tip from the Queen of Style Sarah Jessica Parker

Break the rules
Sarah Jessica Parker
Shoes for a cocktail party, cosy cardigan for the couch, sleeveless belted trench for the office, sunglasses for the beach and a beanie for the slopes. Sounds so wrong, but on Sarah Jessica Parker it's just SO right. Don't be afraid the mix up your options or your textures.

Cindy Crawford daughter " Like mother, Like daughter"

Cindy Crawford's 10 year-old daughter scores Versace modelling campaign!

Kaia Gerber, supermodel Cindy Crawford's 10-year-old daughter with Rande Gerber, stars in Young Versace's first ever advertising campaign.
Kaia Gerber is the star of the first ever Young Versace campaign
Having launched its first store in Milan last month, Donatella Versace's Young Versace brand is forging ahead with another pre-requisite for fashion success - a star-studded advertising campaign.

But far from being intimidated by her glamorous surroundings, Kaia's life as one of the world's most famous model's daughters, has clearly served her well: "Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her," said Donatella Versace of her new model. "Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother's footsteps!"

Smart move Donatella! I guess the H&M collaboration inspired you a lot  in different directions!

Hermes to Increase Prices!

Reportedly due to increased raw-material costs, haute fashion house Hermés will soon be increasing the price tags on their luxury items.

Despite conflicting reports about when exactly the price hike will take place (some say end of January, others say early February), one thing is clear, if you’re planning on purchasing one of the luxurious items Hermes has to offer, you should plan to spend around 9% more than before.

The French luxury company will either increase prices all at once or, as some are guessing, implement a more gradual price hike. Regardless of how it happens, it’s happening, and by mid-February shoppers should be aware that the costs may be higher than anticipated.
Patrick Thomas, CEO of Hermés, said that the fashion house “may raise prices at a reasonable level in 2012 due to significant raw-material cost increases, particularly for silk, cashmere and crocodile skin.”
The price increases for Hermés have already taken effect in Europe and parts of Asia.

Kristen Stewart is the new face of Balenciaga Perfume

Kristen Stewart's fashion star is in exponential ascendance as it was today confirmed that she is the face of a new fragrance to be launched this autumn.
Hot on the heels of her sartorial slam-dunk in her promotional tour for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One , where she upgraded from moody teenager to bonafide Hollywood starlet by breaking out the J Mendel sequins, Stewart has been announced as muse to Creative Director Nicholas Ghesquière.
Star of 'The Twilight Saga', Kristen Stewart.
"Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence," said Ghesquière. "From her early appearance in 'Panic Room' to her independent choice of 'Welcome to the Rileys', I've always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I've always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga."

Are Kardashian Barbie Dolls Really on the Way?

These girls can do anything! Right?
KimKhloé and Kourtney Kardashian have already lent their famous names and faces to their own brands and countless other products—but they haven't yet hooked up with the first name in fashion.
That being Barbie, of course.

But rumor has it that limited-edition Barbie-brand dolls modeled after the three Kardashian sisters are on the way! Kim, Khloé and Kourtney dolls are in the works and should be available wherever Barbies are sold later this year.

Now that's an achievement dollls!

Who Wore it Better? Jennifer Lopez or Haifa Wehbe / هيفا او جنيفر لوبيز ؟

Who wore this stunning Zuhair Murad better?

Ivanka Trump Denies copying Derek Lam

Though she’s only been in the shoe game a couple of years, Ivanka Trump has stepped on some pretty big toes, lately she received a cease-and-desist letter from Derek Lam, who claims one of her designs is an exact replica of his. “We have seen very similar copies before but we have never seen a shoe that perfectly copied,” Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann, chief executive officer of Derek Lam. The shoe in question, a $150 Cadie wedge from the Ivanka Trump Footwear Collection, is said to be knock-off of Lam’s $780

But Marc Fisher Footwear, the collection’s distributor, strongly denies the claims.
Derek Lam's sandal (left) and Ivanka Trump's (right): twins!

“The Lam wedge sandals are of a popular design type that has been used by numerous manufacturers for many decades,” the company says in a statement. “There is nothing iconic about the appearance of the Lam sandal.”

As for Lam’s lawyer’s insistence that Trump’s Cadie wedge “mimic each unique design detail,” the licensee says there are discernible differences. “The Ivanka Trump sandals prominently display the Ivanka Trump name, and there can be no confusion as to the source of the Ivanka Trump sandals.”
Lam has reportedly given Trump seven business days to pull the shoe off the market.

The designs are twins as you can see,  I agree with Ivanka's lawyer above... but also I sympathize with Derek, and many designers who work their A... off creating designs and struggling for many years to be recognized, while Celebs like Ivanka Trump and many others are making it over night! regardless if they copying others or not!

Christian Louboutin vs YSL - Yves Saint Laurent

The battle continues in 2012! YSL has hired 11 law professors who teach, research and write about trademark law to defend their side.

Carrie Bradshaw and Charlotte York in Sex & the City wearing red-soled Louboutins.
Sex and the City. Carry & Charlotte
The professors filed a brief with the Federal Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Tuesday saying Louboutin's arguments to protect his use of a single colour - red - in fashion "should be rejected in order to preserve freedom of innovation and competition."

According to WWD , the professors said Louboutin's side argued against the doctrine of "aesthetic functionality" which prevents companies from using "trademark as a kind of back door to perpetual patent-like protection for attractive but non-novel product features.…[If] the relevant consumers want a product feature because it is especially attractive, then that feature is not a proper subject of monopolisation by a single producer - unless it meets the demanding novelty requirement of design patent."

The legal experts went on: "A woman who buys red shoes is doing so for a reason - red shoes have a particular meaning to her, and to others, that cannot be supplied or even approximated by shoes of a different colour. Given the substantial creativity involved in both fashion design and fashion consumption, courts should not lightly allow one particular competitor to monopolise particular fashion submarket."

YSL / Red Soles

Louboutin and YSL have been embroiled in a legal battle over trademark infringement since last spring. Louboutin has made shoes with scarlet soles since 1992 when the designer saw an assistant painting her nails red.

On April 8th, Louboutin accused YSL of selling shoes with red soles, as part of their resort 2011 collection, that were "virtually identical" to his own, according to a suit filed in federal court in Manhattan. It sought a court injunction against the sale of the shoes and damages
of at least $1 million.

Louboutin lost the first round in August when a judge ruled:
"Because in the fashion industry colour serves ornamental and aesthetic functions vital to robust competition, the court finds that Louboutin is unlikely to be able to prove that its red outsole brand is entitled to trademark protection, even if it has gained enough public recognition in the market to have acquired secondary meaning."
The case continues.

Kim Kardashian's Fun New Look 2012

Not that it's a big deal, but since all media even local media are talking about it, though I can share it with you in video!
Kim Kardashian changes up her style to ring in 2012! See her debut straight hair and short bangs as she celebrates the New Year at the TAO Las Vegas! I personally do not like her new hairstyle, she looks far better in her pony tail ( that she can still have) and with the wavy hairstyle!
More on Kim:

What to buy and what to avoid!
Raf Simmons was ahead of the game when he created this all-over floral look for the Jil Sander autumn/winter 2011 catwalk (right). Céline followed suit for its pre-collection, and Peter Pilotto carries it forward into spring 2012.
Pack away your Isabel Marant Navajo jeans (Middle right) and sweaters and travel further afield. Burberry demonstrates the eclectic globe trekker vibe for summer (right).

Ditch the restrictive pencil skirt, as seen at MiuMiu this winter (left) in favour of a perfect pleat mastered by Prada for spring (Middle left).
Louis Vuitton cinched, sculpted and restrained our womanly curves this winter (Middle right), but for spring we are encouraged by Dolce & Gabanna (right) to flaunt it if we've got it.

Marc Jacobs dropped his autumn/winter spots (Middle right) for pyjama stripes on his spring/summer Marc by Marc Jacobs catwalk show (right).

Emerge from this winter's cocoon coats (as seen at Rochas, left) and transform into a stylish spring/summer butterfly in the clean lines of Balenciaga's boxy jacket (Middle left). Banish your boyish clothes, as seen at Paul Smith for winter (Middle right) in favour of the uber feminine as seen at Valentino (right).

Sales shopping guide // Part1

What to buy and what to avoid!
Claret or neon pink? A pencil skirt or a pleated style? Here's the ultimate guide Part 1 to what to ditch, buy and and embrace in this season's sales. Write off the wine tones as seen on Victoria's Beckham's autumn/winter 2011 catwalk  in favour of Roksanda Ilincic's fabulous spring/summer 2012 fluos

Citrine, emerald and topaz provided a luxurious moment for winter, as seen at Gucci 2011 (left). Go girlie for spring and opt for pistachio, lilac and lemon, like Jonathan Saunders spring/summer 12. Miuccia Prada's tea dresses at MiuMiu (Middle right) were a must-have item this winter, but she's moved onto the 50s for Prada's forthcoming spring/summer collection (right), and so should we.
