Sex & the City ... The NEW Carry Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker)

The CW's new Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, is one of the hottest pilot projects of the season, and now we've got our first look at Anna Sophia Robb in the iconic Carrie Bradshaw role!

Set in the 1980s, The Carrie Diaries follows teenage Carrie as she navigates her way through love, sex, friendship and, of course, fashion while growing up in Manhattan. 
All eyes are on 18-year-old Robb as she steps into the Manolo Blahniks  BIG Sarah Jessica Parker's SHOES wore so well, but producers are confident that the young starlet is up to the task.

Boutique 1 presented an eclectic fashion show showcasing key looks from the SS12 collection styled by fashion trendsetter Miroslava Duma. The boutique was revamped to become the perfect venue for the event, with seats distributed to create a long aisle that sprung into life when the models walked down exuding elegance and unparalleled style. 

On the catwalk, the collection reflected Miroslava’s vision and unique sense of style. The exceptional looks that were showcased featured statement necklaces, sleek modernist lines, and inspirational prints from the most coveted designers such as Diane von Furstenberg, Mary Katranzou, Roksanda Ilincic, Boy by Band of Outsiders, Martin Grant just to name a few; in addition to designers exclusively available at Boutique 1: Missoni, Victoria Bekcham, Raoul, and Laurence Dacade amongst others.

Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Show SS12

Popping color-block, graphic prints and bold florals dominated the runway last night as Saks Fifth Avenue presented their Spring Summer 2012 collections at the iconic DIFC, Under the Gate. Right in the heart of the city, over 700 VIPs had their RSVPs in check while the show set the tone for the upcoming seasons hottest trends. 

With the introduction of over 40 new designers into Saks Fifth Avenue this season, the range surpassed expectations. Bringing an expertly edited collection from the most coveted menswear and womenswear designers, the show featured key trends from designers including Andrew GN, Azzedine Alaia, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior Homme, Kenzo, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin, Jil Sander, Nina Ricci, Manish Arora and Zac Posen. New and exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue, Paco Rabanne and KaufmanFranco, made a stunning and welcomed appearance on the catwalk. Post runway festivities continued with a fabulously fashionable after-party at the Michelin-star restaurant Hakkasan, at Emirates Towers.

Dubai based designer, Rana Al-Basri Mouawad, recently launched her latest collection S/S2012, The Carnival, now available at several boutiques and stores in the region. The S/S2012 designs were initially previewed during PRÊT À PORTER PARIS® Exhibition last September, and since then, it has been positively taken from boutiques and consumers alike.

This collection, whose inspiration came from the painting The Carnival by Noura Masri, hosts a variety of pieces ranging between tops to dresses, designed to be unique and playful for the modern daring woman. Its lines carry structure, elegance and sexiness; combining colours from the painting palette into the pieces.

“This is a very exciting season for me; I enjoyed designing this collection because of what it resembles,” comments Rana Mouawad. “When I first started working on it, I intentionally wanted to create playful designs; pieces that can carry the woman from day to night, with a daring ‘fun’ touch to them.” 

Using fabrics like lace, jersey and silk, the pieces are all interlinked with bold cuts, frills and movement; a way to bring the spirit of the inspiration into the clothes. The colour palette included combining black, white, purple and fuchsia; bright and classic colours suitable for any style.
