The Chanel Party Dubai

Yup Chanel held a very private party last week celebrating the opening of the little black jacket exhibition as  Dubai joined Milan in being the first cities in 2013 in which Karl Lagerfeld's new photographs of celebrities wearing the iconic CHANEL jacket are unveiled, including Rita Ora, Alma Jodorowsky and Caroline de Maigret who were in attendance in Dubai to see their new photographs first hand. They were joined by Gaspard Ulliel, Haya Abu Khadra and Sama Abu Khadra, also featured in the exhibition.

After viewing the exhibition, guests  including Sheikha Lulu Al Sabah and Abdulla Al Kaabi enjoyed a party during which Rita Ora took to the stage to perform.

Few socialites were invited to the party, the rest of them went crazy for not being there with all their overstock of Chanel bags and still they did not receive an invite for the party. Am not sure if this is a good thing or maybe Yes!!!

One of the judges who really caught my attention is Elissa, I've waited for few episodes to appear to be able to judge her style and how she is maintaining it through out the lives. Can you tell a woman’s zodiac sign by her shoes? Maybe! Now eveybody can know mine from my Shoes & Clutch...  at first when I heard about the collection my impression was... ouffff now another way, another shoe designer is trying to attract more clientele by creating something that he or she thinks that is going to be a hit, and HOROSCOPES!!!! OMG how Chic could it be ... but when I saw the collection and am not a big fan of horoscopes graphics and designs...I completely changed my mind 180 degrees... I never loved cosmic things never even had my horoscope on any pendent, poster, souvenir etc... but NOW i want the CHarlotte Olympia Libra scale everywhere! although the style of the flats is not really me! but  I can ignore this time.  I think they look amazing, elegant and sophisticated... If someone from Charlottes O is reading my blog I suggest you expand the collection into jewelry, a brooch for example, neclace, bracelet or ring!!! coz the designs are so great and it's a shame not to use them anywhere else think ala Lanvin Accessories Chunky & bold.I expect this collection to be a classic of the brand, if this is their marketing plan, if not here's an idea for FREE marketing team!

Oscars 2013 Best & Worst Dressed

Unfortunately the list of worst dressed is much longer than the best dressed this year. I was chocked by the choice of few stars who have no excuse not to look amazing and wear the best dress ever.
For the best dressed I liked only 3 celebs, the best was Naomi Watts in Armani Privé click here to view photos, but for the worst dressed and to be honest i would name most of them... but finally I picked only 5 click here to view photos... I couldnt believe the choice of Halle Berry for example she has a gorgeous body and ruined it by the Versace dress, nothing against Versace, the New collection I love but she could have picked anything from the runway and I mean it close her eyes and pick a dress from Versace's runway and it would have been WOW on her (Sorry Donatella but Halle looks like a sequenced roman column.)As for Nicole Kidman I never liked her style except for the red dress she wore last year on the red carpet the Balenciaga with her simple hairdo she looked stunning, but this year I don't know what happened to her, the hair,the mermaid L.Scott dress and her Hips?? is a big no, NOW Salma Hayek wore a gorgeous Alexander McQueen dress that actually if Nicole wore it would have been stunning but on a petite like Salma!!!
The Disaster as usual was Helena Bonham Carter in Vivienne Westwood, but we don't expect anything good from her anyway! click here to view photos

Many designers were influenced by architecture and skyscraper shapes and colors, including Fendi and Rodarte. Prada took inspiration from Japan and put her girls in Harajuku girl platforms (not our faves), and Saint Laurent showed spectacular chic-ness. Alexander Wang, shoes came up to the knee in a splendid variety of sliced up leather & Isabel Marant gave us their best version of gladiator heel. Paying homage to gorgeous shoes here's a selection for the best runway heels of Spring Summer 2013.

It’s been the talk of the week and the golden ticket - Tom Ford’s first on-schedule show, since bidding adieu to the catwalk in 2004 after leaving the Gucci Group, held in a historic mansion in the Palace complex in the city’s St. But for anyone trying to predict what the collection would be like, based on the venue and Ford’s penchant for dark, sexy high glamour, the designer threw an audacious curveball. He kind of spoiled the surprise a bit, printing a clue - Cross Cultural Multi Ethnic – on white cards that were laid out on each chair in the site’s gilded salon.

Don't cry in the fitting room // Have a Happy Shopping with few tips

Hello ladies & gentlemen, I woke up today with a wardrobe/ shopping obsession, it's the beginning of the year and am sure many would like to do the same. Sharing with you few thoughts and shopping tips coz updating the wardrobe requires some shopping YEYYYY, First of all I decided to stop hating myself or my body if cloths don't fit anymore, over the years a woman's body change, for me it's over the WEEKS! LOL

TIPS
Rule number 1: Never, Never shop when:

a- You are in hurry, "I don't have time to look around" is not in a fashionista's dictionary that's why you should give shopping time and try out all the outfits that you like a little or a lot  ALL of them coz we all know that trying the cloth on is a different story, every perception you had might change.
If you are shopping for jeans and on your way to the "casual" dept, you pass by the "evening gowns" dept. and all of the sudden a stunning gown calls you... don't think about it... run to it, try it on and straight to the cashier...you never know when a special occasion pops out.
b- When your boyfriend or hubby isn't answering the phone
c- When it isn't your hair day
d- You look very tired
e- When you are bloated

• When deciding on an item and before buying it, lets say a blouse! think if you've got a pant or skirt that goes with it, you don't want to torture yourself once you need to wear it. 

• Think present not future and surely not past! Think about your body now not in a month and no nostalgia ;) skinny jeans looked great on you in the past, I know you've always wore them but enough is enough, switch to straight legs if you need to ;)

• Take a friend that you trust with you to give you an honest opinion, but sometimes you should go alone at the end the only person who will decide is you just picture yourself or take an actual picture in the outfit on you

• If you get tired a "Pose Café" is not a bad idea at all, just dont give up

• The price tag depends on how much you're gonna wear the item, invest in jeans and LBDs

• Buy lots of accessories including scarves, anything that you like and never trow them away
