In Love with it! Exceptional Limited Edition Bottle Guerlain Muguet

MUGUET 2014 VINTAGE
Candid and poetic, with a fleeting presence that makes it all the more precious… Each year, Muguet by Guerlain blossoms anew on May 1st. Since 2006, this event within the Exclusive Collections has given the Maison Guerlain an opportunity to celebrate spring and strengthen its bonds with the art world.
Every year, one of the most prestigious artisans and “Maîtres d’art” (master craftsmen) of France is invited to create a unique adornment for the good-luck flower, one that fully expresses his or her talent and exceptional know-how.
This year, Guerlain celebrates a traditional French artisanal skill, the art of porcelain, and chooses Brigitte de Bazelaire, a talented Parisian ceramic artist, to express her creativity around the iconic Bee bottle. Known for her luminous creations inspired by nature and steeped in extreme refinement, this artist dreamed up a bottle holder with carefree, springtime charm for the 2014 Vintage. It is made of immaculate white porcelain biscuit
decorated with a raised pattern of delicate lily of the valley sprigs.
To produce this delicate and fine masterpiece, Brigitte de Bazelaire worked with Les Porcelaines de la Fabrique.
This porcelain manufacturer, based in Limoges and founded in 1825, is renowned for the excellence of its creations, made with traditional techniques passed down from one generation to the next.
The Bee bottle, adorned by the “dames de table” craftswomen with a white label and an elegant white grosgrain bow, is presented with its bottle holder in a luxurious white paper box embossed with the iconic Guerlain bees.

MAKING OF: THE MANUFACTURING SECRETS OF AN EXCEPTIONAL PIECE
Brigitte de Bazelaire begins on the potter’s wheel, giving shape to the elegant form of the bottle holder that she uses to build a plaster mould on which to engrave the motifs. This mould is given to the modellers of Les Porcelaines de la Fabrique, who design a “mother
mould” that is then duplicated in 60 “daughter moulds”.
The porcelain clay, initially beige, is then poured inside. It is left there for 5 minutes, ensuring the fineness of the object, before the excess clay is removed. Removed from the moulds, the bottle holders harden in a heated chamber. Irregularities are eliminated with a brush and sponge. After being fired twice in a row, at over 1000°C, the pieces acquire their definitive size and their immaculate whiteness.
The porcelain biscuit is neither glazed nor varnished, giving it anexquisitely authentic rough matt finis.

SEE IT FIRST! Michelle Williams for Louis Vuitton A new advertising campaign captures different facets of femininity

Following her highly successful debut as the face of Louis Vuitton, actress Michelle Williams is back this spring in a second advertising campaign spotlighting three key city bags: the new Lockit, the Capucines, and the iconic Alma.

Photographed once again by Peter Lindbergh, whose sensitive portraits embodied the spirit of the first campaign, Michelle Williams is here revealed in a new light, bringing her special acting talents to bear as she projects three different facets of femininity in a series of visuals styled by Carine Roitfeld.

For the Lockit, Louis Vuitton’s contemporary reinterpretation of its classic 1950s design, Michelle Williams is the essence of the stylish, self-confident Parisienne. Her nonchalant poses reflect the understated elegance of the new day bag in supple Veau Cachemire leather, which is featured in chic pastel shades. For the Alma, the actress is in playful spirits, showcasing the bag’s eye-popping colors of Epi leather as she perches on a pile of trunks. The ladylike Capucines, meanwhile, is ideally complemented by a more restrained, sophisticated mood.

From the compelling combination of force and fragility of the first campaign, to the vibrant contrasts of this second outing, Michelle Williams – as she has done so many times on screen – makes her own her latest role as the multi-faceted Louis Vuitton woman.

First rising to prominence in Ang Lee’s Oscar-winning Brokeback Mountain (2005), Michelle Williams went on to give critically acclaimed performances in films such as Synecdoche, New York (2008), Shutter Island (2010), and My Blue Valentine (2010). In 2011, her performance as Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn earned her a Golden Globe and her third Oscar nomination. Michelle Williams has finished filming Suite Française, which is based on the award-winning novel by Irène Némirovsky, discovered decades after the writer’s death in Auschwitz.

The new Louis Vuitton advertising campaign with Michelle Williams will break in the May 2014 issues of magazines worldwide.

The Lady Dior bag, the Princess bag!

It's one of favourite bags, at the same time it's a classic and modern, depending on how to pull it off, and deepening on its size… I love how its revisited  every season with the latest trends and colours, especially when  a certain artist collaborates in the design…but the classic remains a heart breaker :)
Here's a brief history of the Lady Dior Launched in September 1995, the « Lady Dior » bag was given to Diana Princess of Wales by Bernadette Chirac, on the occasion of her visit to the Cézanne exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris, sponsored by the LVMH group.

The house of Dior’s latest creation was immediately adopted by the Princess, who ordered every available version of it.

In November 1995, during her visit to a children’s home in Birmingham, Princess Diana was photographed by the international press with the bag, holding a child in her arms. The beginning of a success story…

A few weeks later, during a state visit to Argentina, she again appeared with her favourite bag leaving the official plane.

The bag was from then on associated with the world’s most mediatised woman, and sought-after by women the world over. In 1996, as a homage to the Princess, it was renamed « Lady Dior » with her blessing.

Created in a couture spirit, the « Lady Dior » bag in padded stitched leather reflects a number of the Dior house codes. The stitching pattern or « cannage » is inspired by the Napoléon III chairs once used by Christian Dior to welcome his elegant customers on the day of his show in 1947. The letters D.I.O.R. on charm pendants act as an eternal signature.

The most beautiful women in the world have been the face of Lady Dior : first Carla Bruni in 1996, and later Diane Kruger, Monica Bellucci and today Marion Cotillard, photographed by Peter Lindbergh.

Now considered a legendary accessory, it is appropriate for night and day and remains the iconic bag of the house of Dior.
