Elissa...a statement elegance. XFactor Arabia

Talent shows have become a big window for celebrity judges to show off their style sense away from the stage. One of the judges who really caught my attention is Elissa, I've waited for few episodes to appear to be able to judge her style and how she is maintaining it through out the lives. In my opinion Elissa, among all celebs wore the best wardrobe so far, she worked on her full look every time, make up by Bassam Fattouh and hair by Yahia & Zakaria both lebanese. I've compiled the looks and made sure to get from her the designers she wore with maximum details, shoes, headbands etc... Dior, Gucci, Elie Saab, Azzara, Dolce & Gabbana, Marchesa, Christioan Louboutin, Zanotti....

Ready, Steady, GO. The Chalhoub Sale in On again!

Get ready fashionistas, the action is about to begin!
Dubai: Save the Date for Chalhoub's Sale, October 28 (2:00pm to 8:00pm) and October 29 (10:00am to 7:00pm) at the Dubai World Trade Center. Do not miss it out!

Although the items in the sale are not from the latest collections, but being a smart shopper you can choose some classics and timeless pieces, ranging  from Tods, Ralph Lauren,
Carolina Herrera, Dior, Valentino,Tumi, Sephora, L'occitane ...perfume and make up brands and many more ...almost all on 80% OFF +
If you are intending to go on the first day ( I recommend that) you have to be there earlier  before people start lining up as early and they do not let everyone in at once, do not make any plans on that day coz you will be spending 4 to 5 hours inside, people also line up on the cashier and on the sections entrance especially for Fashion. The biggest cashier line is on Ralph Lauren and cosmetic sections, so you might wana do that first!
Last year Fendi did not participate in the sale, you'll be super lucky this year if they do.
Chanel NO! never participates, they usually have their own private sale and it's by invitation only, mostly for staff.

Tips:
  •  Go on the first day
  •  Be there early
  •  Wear comfortable shoes
  •  No children plsss.
  •  Don't carry big bags ( not allowed to carry inside the stands)
  •  There is a storage area, so don't worry about carrying the big shopping bags
  •  If you get there early on the first day, be careful while entering, as they open the doors & a big tsunami wave of shoppers will form:)
  •  If you find something that you like, even if you are not sure about it, just keep it with you until you get to the cashier or you might loose it to another shopper in a split of a sec
  •  If you are going with a friend, make sure you stick together otherwise you won't see each other again in the sale!
  •  Cosmetics are the best buys ever!
  •  Shoes and belts, especially Tods shoes are worth it
  •  Head straight to your favorite brands first when you enter
  •  Gifts: make a (people) list before you go, and if you don't have one stock few items and you never know when an occasion pops out!
  •  Do not over spend, in such events people tend to buy more and regret it later
Enjoy :)

Everyone wants a Cross Bag! Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Lanvin...

All, I mean all of my friends are now shopping for the IT cross bag! Well I’ve been carrying cross bags forever and I can tell you for sure that it is the most stylish effortless accessory to almost all the outfits. I like it with a little dress or tank top and shorts and I have realized that the more the bag is high end the more it gives Chic-ness to anything you put on ! It is indeed the must-have summer bag that every Fashionista will be toting around this season.
The cross-body bag is not only fashionable, but serves a functional purpose. When wearing this bag your hands will be free to sift through racks of clothing while shopping, party freely, and give your shoulders a break! Also adding a pop of color to your wardrobe across a classic LBD or LWD.
My picks for this season in the picture below! In love with the Chanel timeless wallet on Chain, Dior both of them J'adore! and Balenciaga is a passe partout!

Tips: The strap and hardware on cross-body bags are very critical, choose the chain or strap cerefully  a longer one is always better, do not go for big cross bags (pas chic at all) I would say invest in a cross bag with gold or silver accents or chain. If you feel like getting more than one, get a neutral and a bold color ( I always receive compliments on my  flashy green Prada)  Wear your cross bag in 2 different styles, cross or shoulder, depending on the event!

Dior walks in Paris without Galliano!

Without Galliano… Dior Couture Show Fails to Inspire! When your collection notes read like an abbreviated history of the art, architecture and fashion design of the 20th century, you know you've got a problem. Dior's first show ( Paris July 2011) in 15 years without creative director John Galliano.
Four months after Galliano was fired, and with no successor yet appointed, it was with bated breath that the small audience of fashion insiders waited to see how whoever was filling Galliano's immense shoes would fare. (With no permanent successor on the horizon, the collection was overseen by Galliano's longtime right-hand man in the Dior atelier, Bill Gaytten, who is now in charge of the Dior-owned John Galliano label.)

The reaction was underwhelming: Hoots and thunderous applause erupted from backstage, but the audience greeted the show with a short-lived flurry of halfhearted claps.
The collection simply lacked cohesion. With sections that channeled the fluorescent pop aesthetic of the 1980s, a sort of 1970s Marrakech bohemian vibe, and shiny modernist architecture, the show felt like a bunch of ideas thrown almost randomly together. It was like watching three shows in one — and not a particularly inspiring three shows, at that.

The nipped jackets and pouffy skirts were embellished with the sort of amoeba-shaped appliques in eyepopping shades that were last seen on the costumes of 1987 teen pop sensation Tiffany and worn with oversized plastic cubes or spheres in the guise of hats. Oversized ballgowns made from petals of delicate chiffon were accessorized with the kinds of cheap glitter-covered novelty headbands you might wear to ring in the New Year, and you couldn't quite tell if sparkly bits on the bodices were part of the dresses or just shreds of confetti.

Few of Dior's New Collection attracted my attention, surely nothing in the Ready to Wear, but in the Couture Show, Turned out that the ones i like were very close or nearly a copy of Galliano's earlier Collections. I Have added below few pictures of the Last Galliano-Dior show for Spring Summer 2011. Judge for yourself … I already did! Good luck Dior you desperately need it!
