Hermes to Increase Prices!

Reportedly due to increased raw-material costs, haute fashion house Hermés will soon be increasing the price tags on their luxury items.

Despite conflicting reports about when exactly the price hike will take place (some say end of January, others say early February), one thing is clear, if you’re planning on purchasing one of the luxurious items Hermes has to offer, you should plan to spend around 9% more than before.

The French luxury company will either increase prices all at once or, as some are guessing, implement a more gradual price hike. Regardless of how it happens, it’s happening, and by mid-February shoppers should be aware that the costs may be higher than anticipated.
Patrick Thomas, CEO of Hermés, said that the fashion house “may raise prices at a reasonable level in 2012 due to significant raw-material cost increases, particularly for silk, cashmere and crocodile skin.”
The price increases for Hermés have already taken effect in Europe and parts of Asia.

Hermes New Kelly Bag

Who says that picnics should lack style? Take a break from your busy schedule and treat yourselves with a relaxing, savory outdoor meal. Still, don't forget about your styling even while lounging in the grass. And the legendary house of Hermès comes with a chic solution offering a real masterpiece for every fashionista who wants to show off her sassy side in every circumstance. The new Hermès Kelly Picnic Bag is made in wicker and barenia calfskin. Besides, this bag is so pretty and functional as it doesn't allow to sacrifice fashion over comfort and practicality.

Bag addicts will totally understand the need to flaunt a chic bag to a picnic. The Hermès Kelly Picnic Bag beautifully combines the basket weaving art and the leather manufacture and keeps the Kelly closure in order to add the brand's iconic touch. The famous house also released a few images with the legendary bag made of all the foods you put into your picnic basket, from irresistible baguettes, fresh fruits and veggies, but also ham and cheese. Nevertheless, the Hermès Kelly Picnic Bag looks deliciously cute but for Hermes, it is so not up to Legendary brand's level ( hope lady Gaga doesn't see the one done with sausages and hams image, I bet she would ask for a real one to be produced!)

Hermès, just has a different character. Point à la ligne!

What is it with Nomad inspiration this Season? Not that am bothered, I love the different interpretations from Armani to Hermes… Christophe Lemaire ( Hermes Creative Director) is doing very well, and I guess the collection will be a success in the GCC region as many of the designs are a Couture/ Fusion version of the Arabian Male Heritage with an essential and pure look of supreme and discrete luxury blended with minimalism and casual elegance, even if it wasn’t declared as official inspiration!

No embellishment excess, but a deceptive simplicity that favours ease of movement in  enveloping volumes. Some exotic accents in textures and in flowing forms, refined burnouses or Abaya, atlas-inspired tunics, kurtas ( inspired by Afghani, Pakestani...Culture) in thick, compact wool, falconer poncho-style coats, coats sculpted by craftsmen in Mongolia - recall a certain elegant nomad style and suggest that for Hermès perhaps freedom is the true epitome of luxury…in the show Chris decided to stay away from showing the brand's famous Birkin and Kelly bags, or almost any bags for that matter, preferring to keep focus on the clothes. People who have attended the show felt the new Era of calm at Hermes in opposition to ex shows,Gaultier's circus-like shows. There were no live horses, or tennis matches. Just calm.
So yes, let’s be calm, let’s envelope ourselves in a bit of cashmere made by Hermès and face the world with a stolen moment of inner peace.

FYI: There had been widespread speculation that LVMH, the world's largest luxury goods company may bid for Hermes. LVMH's denial was sparked by reports that a takeover bid was imminent. It already owns about 20% of the group."The LVMH group has absolutely no intention of making a bid for Hermes," a spokesman for the company said.

Hermès clandestine...

"A beautiful story. The garden is high up, hanging like its mythical ancestors, over in Babylon. From its lawn and between its branches all of Paris is on view."

There is a secret behind Hermes fragrances, am totally convinced... whenever am trying a new or old scent I feel that a story is being told throught the scent and the name... it's so different than any other fragrance, very inspiring.
The fourth in a series of Hermès' Jardins Collection of fragrances derives its inspiration not from the Mediterranean (Un Jardin en Méditerranée, 2003), the Nile (Un Jardin sur le Nil, 2005), or Indian monsoons (Un Jardin après la Mousson, 2008), but from an urban oasis—the Hermès roof garden at 24, Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.
For in-house perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, the new fragrance, Un Jardin Sur Le Toit, has roots in his personal history with the legendary French fashion and fragrance house—his first-ever meeting with Hermès took place in the rooftop garden, which was then, and is still today, cultivated and cared for by Hermès craftsman Yasmina the gardener.

The scent spread the aromatic herbs, flowers and fruits whose flavors vary as they pass through the metamorphosis persuaded by the season. The fresh atmosphere is captured by pear, rose, apple, basil, green grass, rosemary and magnolia.
I personally had mixed feelings about the new Jardin, very sharp yet smells divine!
