Hermès waiting list soon to be back!

They’re called It bags for a reason, with many thanks to Grace Kelly and Jane Birkin, of course.
The iconic French luxury brand Hermès just announced a 49.5 percent jump in first-half profits, with a net income totaling 290.9 million euros, or $418.6 million at current exchange rates.
It’s quite a chunk of change, even considering the Kelly and Birkin bags can easily go for tens of thousands of dollars a pop. But to keep up with ever-growing demand, the company has reportedly hired nearly 400 new employees.

“We are selling at the rate we are producing,” Hermès CEO Patrick Thomas told the Guardian. "We haven't yet seen a reduction in the number of people coming into our shops, not even in Japan [following the earthquake and tsunami disaster] ... ”
So, if there’s a Kelly calling your name, get thee to an Hermès store! We have a feeling the whole waiting list phenomenon may soon come back into play, and a faux just won’t cut it ...
Is this a sign that the economical crisis is way behind us… or is it a new trend of investment & we will soon hear about it in "Wall street"

Louis Vuitton Saying Bye Bye to Marc Jacobs? or What?

Louis Vuitton has just announced that they are planning to unveil an exhibition during Milan Fashion Week that will pay tribute to their artistic director of 14 years, Marc Jacobs who successfully created the house’s first ready-to-wear line. And this exhibition, which sounds a lot like a retrospective, will be a great way to do it.

This exhibit is like adding fuel to the Marc-Jacobs- going to-Dior rumors!
Katie Grand, who has long styled Louis Vuitton shows and ad campaigns with Jacobs, will curate the exhibit, which, according to Women’s Wear Daily, will pull from the more than 70 collections he’s designed for the historic French label since his installation as creative director in 1997.
Well, if last season’s front-row chatter was all about who would replace John Galliano at Dior, expect next season’s to focus on who might replace Jacobs at Vuitton.
Can't wait to see the playful spirit of Marc Dior's Chic Classics! but not now... I don't think Marc is ready to leave LV yet...

Kim Kardashian Wedding Revealed... First Footage

Kim Kardashian Marries in Vera Wang Wedding Dresses, Giuseppe Zanotti Shoes. She looked stunning at her "fairytale" Big day. Her hair with the glittering tiara dripping onto her forehead and her teardrop, diamond earrings really made the whole princess theme come to life. The reality star didn't disappoint, wearing not one, not two, but three custom Vera Wang gowns throughout the ceremony and reception. Well played Kim we love you for your fashion statements, always!

Courtesy of E! live coverage
As Wang and 439 other guests looked on, Kardashian walked down the aisle in an ivory wedding dress boasting a full tulle skirt, basque waist, and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on the train and bodice.
The bride later made two quick wardrobe changes, emerging in a Georgette mermaid gown with hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and a skirt with hand-cut organza petals, Chantilly lace motifs, and organza sprig embroidery, followed by a V-neck, bias-cut crepe back satin gown with a circle skirt.
Both dresses kept up the ivory color scheme (so much for red!) and were paired with a Judith Leiber clutch, $10 million worth of jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz, and Giuseppe Zanotti heels, a surprise choice given early reports tipping Christian Louboutin as the footwear designer of choice.
Echoing Pippa Middleton, Kardashian's bridal party—including co-maid of honors Kourtney and Khloe and bridesmaids Kylie and Kendall—wowed in ivory, strapless mermaid-silk organza Wang gowns of their own, while matriarch Kris Jenner was also dressed by the designer, E! reports.
Humphries cut a dashing figure in a white peak lapel tuxedo jacket, white tuxedo shirt, black tuxedo pants, and white bow tie from Ermenegildo Zegna (who also outfitted groomsmen like Lamar Odom and Rob Kardashian) before changing into a black jacket and bow tie later in the evening.
The couple sealed their union with wedding bands from Lorraine Schwartz, who designed Kim's 20.5-carat, $2 million engagement ring.
Among all the Royal and non Royal weddings this year, Kim was indeed the most beautiful bride....Alf Mabrouk Kim...waiting for you sooooon in Dubai!

Hollywood Cares- Stuart Weitzman Charity shoes

Celebrity collaboration in fashion is becoming so huge, if you read my blog you'll find plenty of similar stories...and they seem to like the fashion industry so much that most of them are either launching or preparing to launch a label of their own, I mean come on "greed is no sin", but I think that fashion designers should stop opening doors to these celebs otherwise their own doors will be closed & very soon!
Footwear king Stuart Weitzman has teamed up with Olivia Palermo and Scarlett Johansson for the Young Hollywood Cares campaign to raise money for ovarian cancer research. The celebs, including Hayden Panettiere and Gossip Girl's Michelle Trachtenberg, have worked with Weitzman to co-design their own shoe for the brand, which will be sold across various boutiques in the US later this August.
Take a look below to see the celebs' styles. My favourite is Palermo's feather embellished sandal. Let me know which shoe you would wear in a comment below. Clockwise from top left: shoes by Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Palermo, Michelle Tractenberg, and Hayden Panettiere for Stuart Weitzman's Young Hollywood Cares Collection

The longtime Weitzman fan, Johansson took inspiration from her fiery name with a red patent, menswear-style cut-out oxford platform heel featuring contrast lacing in burgundy, which will retail for $425.
Tractenberg contributed a blue denim snakeskin platform pump with crystal and stud accents (also $425), while Panettiere who will join Tractenberg at the designer's Madison Avenue Store for a Fashion's Night Out celebration opted for an edgy black suede bootie with a vertiginous heel and metal hardware ($498).
The star-studded collection will be available at StuartWeitzman.com and at the designer's flagship boutiques beginning August 22. And should Hollywood ever grow tiresome, we think these style-savvy gals will have no trouble landing on their feet!

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony Fashion Line

Though Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have parted ways since they officially announced their separation in July, the two are set to launch separate affordable fashion collections at Khol's Department store, www.Kohl.com on September 7.

Called the Jennifer Lopez Collection and the Marc Anthony Collection, the lines will include sportswear, accessories and sleepwear for men and women.
In addition to her fashion line, there is also the Jennifer Lopez Home Collection, which consists of bedding, towels and luggage.

This is not the actress' first foray into fashion. Lopez initially launched a clothing line called JLO by Jennifer Lopez in 2003 and retired the line in 2007. In 2005 she launched another clothing line called Sweetface and later launched a juniors' line called JustSweet.
"I'm really a fan of glamour and old Hollywood and movie stars so I wanted to bring all of those elements of my style into this first collection for Kohl's," Lopez said
"I definitely have an appreciation for old school glamour ala Rat Pack and 'Oceans 11'," Anthony said about his fashion outlook for his clothing line.

Good news for the fashionistas in our region, the collection will be sold online as well! Hoping to find Jlo's style in every piece...
